Grand Solutions projects are often characterised by high risk profile. They focus on ambitious results with high value creation in Denmark in terms of new knowledge, growth, employment or solutions to societal challenges.
Most projects entail a collaboration among companies, universities and research institutions. Often they have a high degree of research and innovation activities – albeit projects can cover every stage from strategic research to implementation.
Most projects get a grant of DKK 5-30 million and have a duration of 2-5 years.

The Energy Technology Development and Demonstration Programme supports Danish innovative green energy technologies. Research activities can also be supported if they are part of development and demonstration projects. The many different focus areas are, e.g., more green electricity - and for more purposes, energy efficiency, heavy transport and large-scale Power-to-X, etc.
EUDP aims to fund projects that benefit Denmark's goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 70 percent by 2030 and with net zero emissions targeted for 2050.

MUDP
MUDP provides grants for development, test and demonstration projects as well as testing of new environmental technology. Focus is on larger and more strategic investments of approx. 5-10 million DKK, but grants are also given to smaller projects.
Projects that contribute to achieving the UN's global goals are highly valued. E.g., in 2022, MUDP had a special focus on environmental technology projects that dealt with clean water and clean air, circular economy, environmentally hazardous substances and better chemistry, wild nature as well as biodiversity and climate.

GUDP
GUDP (Green Development and Demonstration Programme) supports Danish projects within food production, both agriculture and fisheries, which can help reduce the climate footprint and, at the same time, promote economically sustainable development!
Grants are given to development, demonstration and networking projects within the entire food cluster, which can both solve the environmental and climate challenges we face and be a good business.

EUopSTART
EUopSTART aims to intensify the internationalisation of Danish research and strengthen the interaction between research institutions and businesses within research and innovation.
EUopSTART is a pre-funding scheme that alleviates part of the risk and the resources needed for developing bigger EU proposals. Organisations can therefore apply for small grants for the preparatory work of developing proposals to Horizon Europe.

Missionbooster
Missionsbooster supports SMEs with ambitious green innovation ideas that can help solve the future climate challenges, i.e. supporting the creation of innovative knowledge base for future production within the four concrete mission areas.
Missionsbooster is part of the Innobooster scheme, but differs, e.g., by having a higher percentage of support (70%) and by setting requirements for industrial research and collaboration with a Danish university or an approved technological service (GTS-institut in Danish). Depending on your needs and perspective, a grant can vary from DKK 1.5 up to 5 million.
